Window & Sign Marquee Wiring Diagrams & Directions

Figure 1

Use 4 (four) strings of lights to wire the Window Marquee. Each string may be up to 200 lights, e.g., 35, 50, 100, 135 (100+35), 150 (100+50), or 200 (100+100). Make sure you coil the extra wire between two connected strings so that the last bulb of the first string and the first bulb of the second string have the same spacing as the rest of the bulbs. This will eliminate gaps in the lighting.

Refer to the wiring diagram in Figure 1. Depending upon the bulb spacing of the light strings, place the bulbs around the window or sign at even spaces. For example, if the bulb spacing on the string is 4 inches, place the bulbs every 3.5 to 4 inches apart. First, install the Yellow (CH1) string around the widow or edge of the sign. Second, install the Red (CH3) string. Place the bulbs half way between the Yellow bulbs as you go around the window or sign.. Third, install the Green (CH2) string. Place the bulbs midway between the Yellow and Red bulbs as you go around the window or sign.. Last, install the Blue (CH4) string. Place the bulbs between the Red and Yellow bulbs as you go around the window or sign. Plug the bulbs into the channels of the Digital Light & Sign Controller in order as shown.

Select (ANIM 1 LIM). This provides a Lights-In-Motion pattern where two bulbs are lit at the same time. The pattern is 1+2, 2+3, 3+4, 4+1,.....and keeps repeating. By using other patterns, the window or sign marquee can be made to change color, fade on and off while changing color, snap to different colors, turn on and off in an inchworm pattern and many others. ANIM 2 reverses the LIM direction. ANIM 5 1of4 Oscillator gives the appearance of the border moving back and forth. ANIM 11 is the Breathing effect pattern. Another interesting pattern is ANIM 7 Following Cascade, the light strings turn ON one-at-a-time then turn OFF one-at-a-time (sequence: 1, 1+2, 1+2+3, 1+2+3+4, 2+3+4, 3+4, 4, OFF.....then repeats. Try different modes for different effects. Have fun!!! Slow the speed down so you can see the patterns more easily. You can=t harm anything so play around. When you have selected the mode (pattern), speed, and brightness you want, just let it run for a minute and it will remember the settings automatically.
